David Rose

Director of education

David Rose embarked on his musical odyssey by embracing the trumpet in his formative years as a fifth-grade student participating in the school band. Transitioning from a prosperous tenure in business management, he dedicated himself to his musical calling by attaining academic accolades from Merced College. His educational pursuits honed his expertise in guitar performance, with a specialized focus on music theory, and culminated in a degree in music history. Since 2010, David has imparted his musical knowledge to aspiring students within the expansive Merced locale. In 2019, he co-founded Rose Music Studios in collaboration with his wife, Leanna, solidifying his commitment to musical education and excellence.

Leanna Rose

Relations

Leanna Rose brings over 25 years of extensive experience in Customer Service and Administrative roles. With her roots in The Bay area, she cultivated a deep appreciation for live music through her upbringing in her parents' country night club in Santa Clara. During this period, she honed her vocal talents by occasionally performing with the bands, fostering her passion for singing. In 2015, Leanna made the strategic decision to relocate to Merced after spending 15 years in Nashville, TN. It was in Merced that she crossed paths with David Rose, and their shared vision led to the establishment of Rose Music Studios in 2019.

Journey Poe

Journey Poe is a skilled sax player with over 10 years of experience across many music styles. He's studying music education at CSU Stanislaus, loving both playing and teaching. Journey has performed in many settings, from jazz groups to solo classical shows, musical theater bands, and gigs with jazz, rock, and reggae bands. His wide-ranging experiences and love for music have given him the know-how and understanding to motivate and teach new musicians. Journey's passion shines through in every note he plays and lesson he gives.

Eli Bocks

Eli is a dedicated musician who has devoted their life to the art of music, with a special emphasis on singing and playing the piano. With over 15 years of performance experience and more than 10 years of songwriting under their belt, Eli brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to their teaching. Eli is truly excited about the chance to teach the joys of music and the importance of healthy singing techniques!

Marion Roubal

Marion holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Music from San Francisco State University, earned in 2001. Her professional experience includes serving as a music teacher for Vallejo City Unified School District, where she instructed students in band, choir, and music theory. Subsequently, Marion transitioned to teaching English abroad. Throughout her career, she has maintained an active involvement in music performance, coaching, and collaboration with fellow musicians in informal settings. In 2008, Marion enlisted in the US Navy, and in 2015, she joined the National Park Service. Presently, Marion fulfills the role of Ranger at Yosemite National Park, while also reigniting her passion for music. She advocates for her students to establish a strong foundation in music theory and underscores the significance of physical endurance, precision, and personal expression in musical performance.
